Litter on A259, Marsh Road, Bexhill-on-Sea

Reported via desktop in the Litter (NH) category anonymously at 00:11, Tue 5 January 2021

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2461658.

The A259 traverses through the Pevensey Levels an internationally protected site (RAMSAR) and an SSSI. Despite this there appears to be little effort to clear up the litter on a regular basis. Whenever the verges are cut the plastic is shredded into small pieces making it easier for it to contaminate the levels. In the circumstances, I believe that the Highways Authority is required to make a greater effort to protect the Levels given its status. A reply is required, please.
