Button on pedestrian crossing not working

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:47, Thu 17 December 2020

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2436102.

The button on the pedestrian crossing does not work. Specifically, it's the button on the west bound side, on the nearside of the carriageway, furthest from the Bridle Road junction.

Updates

  • The button on the east bound side of the A52 was not working yesterday (5 May 26) or stopping the traffic. The button on the west bound side of the A52 often times out without stopping the traffic and needs to be re-pressed. This crossing is the closest crossing to two local schools and is used by school children to cross a very busy road. Therefore, it the button is not stopping the traffic then the school children will have to chance crossing the road, which is extremely unsafe. I see that this has been reported a few years ago and not actioned. Anyway, you have been warned that an accident is likely to happen, please ensure your liability insurance is up-to-date if you do not intend to fix it! Thanks.
