There is a horrendous amount of litter and fly-tipping along A249 from Junction 7 M20 to Junction 5 M2. M2 is no better in either direction.... Ironically I often see "environmental waste vehicles" (Countrywide/Ling) with waste materials being sucked out into the slipstream from under the net/tarp further adding further to the mess. Does anybody read this?

I drove down the A249 from Iwade to Maidstone for the first time in many weeks on Tues 09/03/2021 and was horrified at the amount of litter and just extortionate amounts of plastic caught in the trees. Mortified is an understatement!!

Drove along the A249 today from Kemsley to Maidstone today (02-04-21) and the litter is a disgrace. Because of the vegetation growing now it will soon cover the rubbish which will help the authorities!! I've given up emailing my local MP who in turn contacts Highways England and the local authorities. This problem is getting worse year by year.

Highways England please get teams out there clearing this litter. 'Dirty man of Europe' is the title this country is called now by friends who visit me for the EU.

Absolutely disgusting amount of rubbish along A249. Disgraceful. And while I know it is the fault of the morons who throw it, it is alos the responsbile of authorities to clear it up. This hasn't happened effectively for YEARS.

It is the worst it has ever been. You can tell it hasn't been cleared for years. Even where they have done ground clearance at Stockbury they still haven't picked up the rubbish! Of course, any intelligent and responsible organisation would have taken the opportunity when the roads were quieter during the pandemic...

As bad as ever. Just ignored by HE. I am going to go and start picking it up myself - you know who to blame if I get hit by a lorry!

Unbelievable amount of litter along the entire length of the a249 and nothing is being done about it. Don't believe them when they say crews have been out they havent. its like driving through a rubbush dump!

Just witnessed motorist discard contents of a national newspaper through car window M18 Why not introduce litter camera's similar to speed camera's. I appreciate this would be difficult to police but maybe just as a decoy would be effective

What does it mean that updates are not sent to National Highways? What is the point of these updates then? How do I get an explanation of the role of National Highways in the clearing of litter along our highways? The roads are disgusting. The M2 is an embarrassment for tourists coming from the ferries.

Most motorway and A road verges that I’ve travelled along recently (A17, A47, A52, and roads/routes up to Newcastle) have a disgusting amount of plastic litter decorating trees and bushes, as well as huge amounts of cans, bottles and other debris at ground level. It is disappointing and embarrassing to see, especially when seen from the perspective of visitors from abroad - definitely not a look to be proud of! When The British Isles have such beautiful countryside, it is spoiled by these horrible first impressions. Why can’t these roads be cleaned up??? What is the National Highways doing about this problem??

The litter on the A1 between Peterborough and Blyth is disgusting and has been bad for over a year now. I am a regular user of this stretch of road and dread to think what overseas visitors must think of the mess.

The amount of litter along the M62 is disgusting and an obvious sign that those responsible are not doing their job, at all. Less litter means less litterers and we need to heavily fine those littering.

The litter problem is such an issue across the whole of the UK. Close roads to clean up the debris and erect some big signs "lane closed to clear up your mess!". Maybe NH needs to piss off motorists to finally get people to change their behaviour
