Speed restrictions signs still showing , long after incident is cleared. Can you inform me , how long is the legal limit for speed restrictions to be lifted after an incident .

Long after an incident is cleared the overhead gantries are still showing a speed restriction , when the carriageways are clear and not obstructed. This is causing delays unnecessary, and the potential for driving infringements for going above the adversities speed. Is there a legal time scale for the limit to be lifted to enable free flowing traffic ?
