Junction marking illegible

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 14:46, Saturday 3 October 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 10187925.

Junction road marking illegible on Acklington and Swarland giveaway points onto the A1 carriageways. Signage and road markings on approach to A1 from Acklington is poor, likely because of the road camber where the north bound carriageway may not be obvious, removal of additional signage warning of Giveaway and Dual Carriageway located on the traffic island to the west of the A1 (see Google Street view in 2009) is leaving drivers to make errors in turning north into the south bound carriageway. Central reservation road markings also illegible to the edge of the A1 carriageways, directional arrows in the south bound carriageway are also illegible. This is basic maintenance requirements by both NCC and National Highways which would be easily resolved in a week.
