Uneven road/expansion joints

The M11 slip road joining the A406 eastbound has got quite a significant part where the road is uneven. It is unavoidable and causes a significant drop in the car when driving over it at speeds of 50mph. I imagine this could cause much damage to cars as well as accidents.

Updates

  • I went over this road expansion joint yesterday at 40-50mph in a southbound direction (Tuesday 2026-09-01) and it made such a loud bang I was surprised I didn't have a puncture, wheelrim or suspension damage. There should be speed restrictions here (30mph?) or there will be an accident/damage to many vehicles.
